This policy explains how Blue Pentagon Consulting (Pty) Ltd collects and uses personal information. We are the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect on this website

If you complete the enquiry form on this site, we collect the name, email address and message you enter. We use that information only to reply to your enquiry and to keep a record of our correspondence. We do not sell it and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

This website is hosted by Squarespace, which sets cookies and records basic visit statistics such as the pages viewed and an approximate location. This helps us understand which pages are useful.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for as long as we reasonably need them to answer you and to meet our record keeping obligations, and then delete them.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to our use of it. Write to info@bluepentagonsa.com and we will respond. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

ChannelOS and YouTube API Services

ChannelOS is an internal tool we use to publish videos to our own YouTube channel, The Hidden Logic of Things. It uses YouTube API Services, so in using it we are bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

It uploads and manages videos on our channel, reads our channel's own analytics and reads public search results. Its sign-in tokens and our channel's figures stay on our own computer, are shared with no one except Google, and are deleted when the tool is retired. It collects no personal information about anyone else.

Access can be revoked at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
